Transnational History - What's It All About?
I think transnational history is a pretty expansive term. It incorporates a lot of different approaches to history, perhaps reflecting the complexity of what it's trying to define and look at. I'm not claiming that this book was the same as many other transnational histories that had been written in recent years. But I do think it is transnational, perhaps at least a couple of senses, is transnational in the sense that I'm looking at non state actors and private individuals who are moving across national boundaries. And then finally, I also used direct contact with some of these individuals who've been to China in the 1970s.
