Cropotkin's Free Agreement With the Railways
In chapter 11, Cropotkin raises the question of voluntary free agreement between individuals in order to enable cooperation. He insists that we have been more or less tricked into thinking that without the state and the law, humanity would just destroy itself. The bulk of this chapter is devoted to exploring instances of free association with primary emphasis given to the development of the railway system. Hropotkin says there really is no single overseeing governing body which can guarantee their function on a transnational level.
