What Is the Tidal Volume of the Lungs?

The tidal volume is phrase to refer to the amount of air that is moved or inspired or exhaled in each breath when you are breathing normally. So it's a constant in and out rhythm of increasing and reducing pressure brought about by the diaphragm and the th intercostal muscles. Now let's talk a bit about the lung capacities, which is important when thinking about the rate at which we breathe and the sort of spare capacity of the lungs. We need a lot of reserve capacity for times when we need extra oxygen so we don't want to be using the entire capacity every time.
