The Transition From the Old Generation to the New Generation

Numbers 20 is a transition from the old generation to the new generation. In terms of the structure, I think you have in these chapters two, essentially mirroring images. The people quarreled with Moses and said, would that we had perished when our brothers perished before the Lord? So now they're saying it would be better for us to be dead. We'll see some other comparisons and contrasts as we go through it.
