Will Equities Do Well in a Higher Rate Environment?
We don't necessarily know what's going to happen if there's going to be a higher rate environment. Trend following is maybe one of the few things that might do well, but let's talk about this for a few seconds. If yields go up, so the prices go down, we will be short bonds. And meanwhile, some macro funds out there not naming names have been betting on a rising rate environment for how long? Let's say a lot of this year and it will lose the money on that. This is the perils of timing because you could sit there frozen like a deer in headlights avoiding or ignoring what's going on now.
