Sensory integration therapy was based on the assumption that by doing certain types of sensory intensive activities, you could change their brain long term. There's just no evidence for that. Unfortunately, we know that those types of inputs and strategies and tools do benefit the child. But what we know now is that it serves regulation. It doesn't serve neurological change over time.
