Introduction

Gary Young briefly became part of Nelson Mandela's entourage. He joined revelers as President of Armor was elected and has written about much else too. Gary left full-time journalism at the Guardian newspaper in 2020 to become Professor of Sociology at Manchester University. His new one is a collection of his journalism called Dispatchers from the Diaspora.
