The Widman Statin Patterns in Meteorites
Professor Loeb: If we find that the composition indicates materials that originated outside the solar system, that's it. That would resolve once and for all doubts that are being raised about the interstellar origin. Could it be an artificial object, that it was manufactured by technological civilization? Just imagine droplets melting off semiconductors or an electric circuit. We want to see what will happen when you press a button on this meteorite. And then one of the students in my class at Harvard asked if we should examine it as well because they were worried about what may happen. Professor Loeb: I said no way, because we are very curious why we don't just bring it to a laboratory.
