"The most important part of being away is is like having my full intact identity, not related to worke," she says. "There's just always a little bitlike dynamic social tension sike, i guarantee the meeting, tha, yu're saying no to there are people in the meeting that would love to spend more time with rodney." She adds: "I think sometimes me, particularly because i'm such a perfectionist about certain things, i feel like that, you know, holding things to a standard is somehow integral'
Taking a break from work can look 1,000 different ways: You could learn how to make homemade pasta; you could visit five new countries; you could spend sunup to sundown swinging in a hammock. What constitutes a break should fit your specific context and needs. And in this way, taking a true, you-shaped vacation—for a week, a month, or even longer—dips into org design knowledge and territory.
