The Importance of Error Budget Tracking
The error budget is calculated automatically based on the SLO. If your SLO is 90%, then your error budget is 10%. If it's 95% or higher, you are allowed to be non-available in a given period of time. The SRE infrastructure can tell whether you actually used up your error budget but still didn't use more. And that means we need to invest into reliability of those services.
