Metal Detection - What Is the Best Approach?
If you come across an anglo saxon cruciform brooch or something like that, rather than pulling it out of the ground and sort of putting on the mantelpiece as a piece of treasure. Report it to portable antiquities skin, of course, but leave it in the ground because it might be part of a cemetery. Pulling out the metal artifacts is actually wrecking the graves, wrecking all the archaeology. So i'm awful people working on beeches and in plough soil. But once you get below that, that's where you're hitting really important sensitive archaeology. Careful about beeches when some of them have by laws, ehe followers. And
