How to Dose Insulin

Nph is a bit of a hidden tool because most people are a little bit unfamiliar with it. It's not as commonly used however it is much more inexpensive than other basal insulins. Because of its peak effect more of the basal insulin dose should be delivered in the morning time. As it peaks the person can ingest food and have some of the insulin and carb being matched from that during the daytime. For example if we're doing 0.2 units per kilogram that would be like something like 15 units in the morning and five units in the evening to cover us pretty decently.
