Vantuano is a beta male, but has been in a position of authority for a very long time. When he holds court, he's the highest ranking person in the room so everybody nods along because he's the boss man. The powers of B saw that he just lacked the chops to continue to be a psycho within the FBI and were like, all right, we'll make sure you land you a great retirement gig as an accountant at KPMG.
