The Rise of the Bureaucracy

In the Western world universities, how many administrators are there vs. actual teaching staff or research staff? And in the healthcare system, how many bureaucrats are there compared to doctors and nurses? It's really sad to see that for most of our lives, we've seen this sort of mostly upwards trajectory in terms of life expectancy in terms of income GDP. But now sadly, it's getting to a point where the state is so big, well, certain states are becoming so powerful that they are actually lowering people's standard of living.
