In a language called aramangan, which is also known as CIE, you get these constructions that sort of look like the mirror image of these converb constructions in these verb final languages. The word for and has been sort of reanalyzed as a prefix on the verb, kind of supplanting the tense and agreement morphology on that verb. That could be an explanation for why these things look more like main clause verbs than they do in most languages that have converbs.
