The Divisiveness of Patriotism
I think the concept of patriotism is a very interesting one because it means different things to different people. And I don't think that was necessarily always the case, certainly not in the USA. But things seem to have shifted now where even the American flag itself, if I'm in the US,. I'm from the UK, but if I're in the USA and I see a house with an American flag on it, I think, oh, that's a Republican household. It has become much more divisive, which is terrible because, again, who doesn't love freedom?
