The idea is to detach from the world and enter a state of this mindful nothingness. I very rarely see any suggestion that it should be a balanced switching between these things. It's usually presented as a blanket statement. And in the case of the of this presentism one or the present focused examples, it is an escape. Sometimes an escape is useful if you have this frenetic life,. In which case that would be a balancing to the frenetic existence. So it would act as a good thing. But if it's presented as a a a universal ubiquitous way of living, then it's not so good because you are detaching from life. This is about as virtual and non decisive
