There were at least two languages in regular written use throughout the region. There were elemites from western aran and eblaites, another semitic speaking group among many others. Prisoners of war brought back from expeditions near and far,. were a common sight, especially women and children. More than anything, we can be sure that people in mesopotamian cities worked.
