In CS Lewis's Screwtape letters, he says that there is no hope of getting rid of us except by yielding. If you've learned to pay tithing until it is no burden or real temptation anymore, then to that extent you have bound Satan. The same is true in keeping the word of wisdom or living in love chastity and other laws of the gospel. Elder G. Smith said, as you resist Satan, you have power over him and he loses his power over you. Spencer W. Kimball: It should be our desire and design to strive to bind Satan in our lives.
