How Community Banks Can Leverage Technology to Solve Problems

Most of the consolidation in community banking has happened in urban areas where large banks could get huge returns on building a branch network and dense population. That's why you end up with whatever the numbers were, 90% of deposits in South Dakota being the community banks. It just comes down to population density. And so I think now the question is, as we look at new technologies, new business models in financial service, what are ways that we can start to make that happen?
