Outcomes of the Opus Trial
The chapter discusses the outcomes of the Opus trial, a specialized early intervention program for individuals with first-episode schizophrenia spectrum disorder. It explores the lack of long-term clinical effects after a ten year follow-up, as well as the temporary effect on mortality but no significant effects on psychiatric in-patient or supportive housing facilities after a twenty year follow-up. The limitations of the study and a comparison to other early intervention programs are also discussed.
