In sonnet one 30, maybe he's trying to kind of come to terms with his strange, conflicting feelings. He says i grant i never saw a goddess, my mistress when she walks treads on the ground. So again, this bouncing back and forth between heaven and hell. And yet, by heaven, i think my love as rare as any. She belied would false compare.
