The 1970s brought a much crueler period of military rule in South Korea. The KCIA was spooked by a growing labor movement and bubbling discontent. Running afoul of the secret police earned you a trip to the South Mountain, the agency's headquarters. And average Koreans avoided getting in trouble by not talking about anything at all to anybody.
