China's Exclusion From the Debt Restructuring Talks
China is one of Sri Lanka's biggest bilateral creditors. Japan, India, and France announced formation of a creditors committee made up of governments that have lent to Sri Lanka. China played a part in the lead up to the IMF's approval of a $3 billion loan to Sri Lanka in March when it agreed in principle to support debt restructuring.
