Zappa: A Paradox of Showbiz Kids

Zappa had always intrigued me because he was paradoxical. I liked some of his politics. I didn't like others. He was, you know, sexually craven and yet he was really forward thinking. And so I found so many kids who he seemed to really love and spend time with and yet he didn't. It felt like they were all hostages. But yeah, as a grown up, my mother painted, but she wasn't on the cutting edge of anything. So it's irrefutable that Zappa in and of himself and whatever he was sort of spearheading was truly revolutionary.
