The Reductionist Understanding of the Righteousness of God

Righteousness entails faithfulness because it would be wrong to break your word. If you're a righteous person you keep your word and so God being righteous will be faithful to his covenant. But righteousness is not reducible to faithfulness. So merely reckoning to us faithfulness to the covenant wouldn't suffice for salvation. Paul already had that and he said it availed for nothing.
