In a broad sense, faith can be understood asa total orientation of open trust and dependence on god. Faith is now then, all encompassing in a certain sense. It's a disposition that forms the entire life. And here, i think protestants and catholics have often argued past each other. Both of them are rooted in the bible. In fact, both are rooted in paul.
