The Second Stage of the Socialist Revolution

In 1946, there was the so-called food made-a incident when made-a celebrations were resumed after having been suppressed for a decade. Popular support for or acquiescence toward the imperial institution remained strong even after the war. In 1947, the occupation ordered the cancellation of the general strike organized by the JCP and its unions. The socialist party did not really bear the brunt of the reverse course in the late 1940s.
