The Inca Empire Stretched From North to South
From its seat at cuzco, the inca empire expanded until it encompassed a truly vast expanse of territory and ruled over as many as 12 million people. At two million square kilometers, it covered a land mass equal to the western roman empire in europe and the chin empire in china. It was actually one of the few empires in history to ever stretch so far from north to south. The inca tended to keep well clear of the amazon rain forest's dark, shady depths. They traded with its people for brightly coloured macor feathers. And on a number of occasions, seem to have attempted to spread their empire down into the forest with military power.
