The Complexity of Complex Systems
The trajectory of a complex system is exceedingly difficult to predict. The fact that it seemed to have come back to life this summer, I would not have predicted in advance. Phase transitions, as we call them, are typically unpredictable. And so a phase transition seems to have occurred and it's now self-generating. But how long that exponent remained greater than one, I don't know.
