The concept of sure is a difficult term to translate. Sun Tzu himself in the art of war uses metaphors to describe this concept. There has been a debate among Western scholars about what sure tells us about Chinese strategy. To me, I think there is something about sure that seems very attractive to Chinese military strategists.
