The Importance of a Constructive Understanding of the Problem
The first thing is that the patient has to have a constructive understanding of their problem we think that's really important. We don't think if they've got negative thoughts about the pathology we might try and discuss those issues which can be very difficult. Once we've attempted that we try to ensure that the patient can master their exercise that they can do their exercise well. There are some really worrying things I hear about patients being handed exercise leaflets as they leave the clinic or email their exercises after the session, even sometimes text the exercises.
