The Memory of a Child

In my delirium I was very sick and my mother describes that I would mourn saying why are the Hindus and Muslims killing each other so in a sense the child's in comprehension is what I remember about the earliest memories. A woman who helped us she was a widow you know two million South Indian widows had a certain garb and it had years later also but all that stayed in my head was that she has this woman she's there and she wept when I came to see her. She cried as if to say I was her child and she was so distressed at the fact that I was bleeding that too stays in my head. So our memories are episodic and some will surface
