What Is the Soul Really Doing for the Plant?
St. Thomas Aquinas teaches this following Aristotle and the first part of his summa theologica, or theologia, question 76, Article 1. Even the catechism of the Catholic Church adopts this philosophical framework to describe the soul as the form of the body. So a soul is the form of a body. Now form is just a word that we use to signify that which makes a thing to be the kind of thing it is.
