Solidarity Is Not a Market Exchange
I'm currently engaged in a lot of tenant organizing, targeting a couple hundred tenants who all share one slumlord. What brings these people together is that they all have the same slumlord, but they are black, white, Latino. Some are disabled, some are queer, some voted for Donald Trump. We are trying to organize all of them, because there they are, humanity. Right. It's not easy. But what we're seeing in these new movements is a principled solidarity without the expectation that you're going to get something in return.
