Is NFT Blockchain Helping to Transform the Art Market?
The main critique of the art market is that it is so opaque and there's so many secrets. The anonymity of the blockchain here sort of helps to further that opacity or is it, I sure a lot of people would love not to have their names associated necessarily with ownership? It's such an interesting question. There are these weird overlaps of GDPR requirements, know your customer, anti-money laundering requirements where there's a pull toward privacy and a pull toward disclosure. NFT sales are not immune from questions of exclusion, differential pricing for men and women, kind of race, ethnicity.
