The Role of Clothing in Identity Formation
Wearing a certain sort of clothing might be one of the quickest ways of achieving some of these things. So white t-shirt for me is something that's kind of iconic and it makes me think of the leading man in American movies from James Dean up to Tom Cruise. What about goths because they wear a lot of black? They are not aggressive people in my experience, they are some of the gentlest people. And again, we told these things from a very young age so that they're embedded in our unconscious.
