Jason Smith: I propose that Kubrick's later films are cultural artifacts designed as scientific instruments to interact with human consciousness and create an obsession. He says the internet is built out of consciousness because every programmer that we use was built by conscious programmers. And then those programs and even the hardware, whether it gets even more mysterious there, is informed like a cumulatively by that consciousness.Smith: My next book will be about metaphysical entities feeding on our consciousness and using our psyches to disseminate themselves.
