The History of the Camels in America

In 1857, a second cargo of 41 camels landed on the Texas coast and a permanent camel camp was established at Camp Verde near San Antonio. Two famous figures amongst these handlers that would be known after the Civil War in Arizona and California were Hudzi Ali or Hai Jali. The other person was George Karolombo, who was known as Greek George. In medieval times, when Muslims went to Mecca, often they go on roads there if they weren't traveling by ship,. They would travel in huge caravans led by a camel ear.
