Does Neo Liberalism Require a Robust Welfare State?
For everybody, there's either a welfare state or the weird thing for buchanon is his almost total silence on basic welfare programmes. A lot of them make an argument that the welfare state is a a piece of a well functioning capitalist economy. But neo liberals, i think, kind of accepted as a reality. I think hag thinks it has some positive functions. In general, he prefers that markets provide these things and tha government subsidize them.
