When you have individuals making decisions on behalf of the organization their attitude to risk is not necessarily identical to the attitude of the organization. In effect what you might use these processes for is concentrate the decision making about risk taking where it really belongs which is at the level of the organization and not mix up the risk aversion of individuals in their individual decisions. We're much better as individuals at making relational decisions about something being better and worse so if we can think in those terms that can be helpful.
