Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by George MacDonald

Alice's Adventures in Wonderland was first published in November 1865. Among the earliest fans of the book were Oscar Wilde and Queen Victoria. Carroll had no idea about how much of a resounding success it would be when he first started writing it. He added some new stories and characters such as the Mad Hatters Tea Party, Alice's Meeting with the Cheshire Cat or Alice among the fairies. For the book, he enlisted a man called John Tenniel, a cartoonist or illustrator from the comedy magazine Punch.
