The Importance of Fiscal Policy in the Economy
Sally Kohn: I think, you know, fiscal policy has become more popular in recent years. Trump essentially cut taxes and created the largest fiscal deficit during an economic expansion in the country's history. And now we have people on both sides of the aisle wanting to use fiscal policy for infrastructure or a green new deal. She says MMTs create an initial asset price boom that can be leveraged by those who see it coming so they get rich faster. Skelton: This is just kind of like what happened in France in 16th century when speculating on Mississippi land bubble came crashing down.
