Stop Making Hay When It Sets
Modern efficiencies make our working hours into a choice. America has an epidemic of sleet deprivation among both kids and adults. High schools offer a period zero class for kids who want to start school at seven a m. Then slice the day into sereal clock watching intervals, with classes starting and stopping at arbitrary times like eight 11 to eight 59 or two 17 to two forty eight. Whatever notional purposes these strange intervals set, their most enduring effect is to turn a child's thick, sliced, dreamy, curious time into slices so thin you could use them as tracing paper.
