The Importance of Incentives in Human Action
Hans Hoppe argues that incentives seem to be the thing that governs a lot of human action. When we eliminate these outlets or opportunities for private investment, we're basically eliminating the incentive to be productive. So he's saying that you can use reasoning to deduce that these systems have to be less productive because of the way they're organized.
