The First Screen Performance of Miss Marple

This is an adaptation of a murder is announced, one of my very favorite Christie's. The singer and actor Gracie Fields played Miss Marple in a live televised adaptation that aired during the holiday period on December 30 New Year's Eve Eve 1956. We have none other than an extremely young Roger Moore. James Bond is in this adaptation. This is actually a great role for Jessica Tandy. She's perfect as Letty Blacklock.
