Is This a Tomato Dish?
Tomatoes made their way to Asia through whether it was like Spanish or French colonialism. The reason why I think it could potentially have a European vibe is because of the pairing of eggplant and tomato. It's not like there's no like raw tomato preparations in most East Asian cultures, I don't think.
