Christian is right that there was much more of an imperative 30 or 40 years ago to take up some of these social issues. I think you're wrong to say that there's still not a hell of a lot of work to do in the social sphere which should concern us but doesn't specifically concern liberalism as the art as an ideology. What we have in the uk is the right is mostly progressivism driving the speed limit and so what we have now when difficult questions are raised on the trans issue we should be right in there saying this whole thing's got to go home entire imperfect might not happen probably won't happen, he says.
