Republican Exceptionalism Versus Democratic Exceptionalism

I think we are all the inheritors of slave morality. My own moral intuitions are in that realm. I mean, there's no getting away from it. So really the culture war is not between slave morality and master morality. It's between two sort of competing versions of slave morality in some sense. And you see, I think that the kind of people who tend to be on the left tend to be more likely to go into bureaucratic positions. But maybe it's just something to do with personality types that tend to going to one side or the other.
