In English pubs, people stand up. They're full. Everyone is drinking a lot. And everyone sort of acts like a hooligan. You can't have a civilized conversation in that environment. What you're experiencing is culture shock. If you want to find more peaceful surroundings, you're going to have to look a little bit more carefully for a quieter pub. It might be difficult to find them in Bournemouth. I think Bournemouth is a nice town. But typically the English get a bit carried away with football games - particularly if it's England. We just let ourselves fully go. There is a stereotype about the English that we're very reserved and don't let our
